First Aid Training
A number of club members are trained in first aid. Courses are run at the club to maintain competence. Training includes Basic Life Support, Defibrillator, and Recovery Position Training from a Qualified First Aid Trainer. The training supports the recently installed defibrillator within the club house. Those who pass the course receive certificates to support and evidence their achievement.
Car Parking
There are two parking areas, one directly in front of the club house (the main car park), and a second below this in the adjacent field (the overflow car park). All spaces in the main park are to be regarded as "disabled priority".
Open Days
We can only entertain guests and visitors on the designated open days and the last Sunday of each month is designated an open day and the local Police have been informed. This is part of the Home Office regulations that govern all H.O. approved firearms clubs. These same regulations require us to ensure police checks are completed before newcomers attend again after the first visit. We will always try to minimise disruption to members shooting when prospective new members are being shown around but we ask members to please remember their first times and be patient.
Coaching
To ensure safety on the ranges, all newcomers are required to successfully complete a four session safety coaching course covering airguns and .22rf rifles before becoming members. The purpose is to ensure that people are safe to shoot and until successfully completing the course new shooters will be subject to one-on-one supervision.
100 Yard Range
Shooters without a current NRA competency certificate must be assessed by a qualified RO or coach before shooting on the Quarry (100m) Range.
Reloading
Reloaders are required to log details of reloaded ammunition upon arrival at the club. The club reserves the right to test random samples of ammunition over the chronograph to confirm it is within the range certification.
